Jules was born in Burundi. He first landed in New York City with $40 and did not speak a word of English.
He started a successful organization and resource center for refugees called Umugenzi for Refugees in Toronto. His goal was to assist his fellow refugees to adapt to their new life by volunteering in communities of their choice.
Since then, he’s been advising Canadian politicians and foundations on how to assist and deliver effective programs to immigrants and refugees to become productive members of the society. He has developed expertise and knowledge on how Canadian politics operates through community organizing and political activism.
He was also selected among 100 young Canadians to meet Canadian parliamentarians and business leaders. He was also recognized in House of Commons by former Liberal Interim Leader The Hon. Bill Graham for his positive role model for newcomers-refuges in the Toronto area.He owned and operated a communication consultant firm. He’s also done volunteer work at the parliament office of MP John Mackay.
He is currently writing a book about Canada Immigration Challenges and Solutions for the 21 Century.
